With the Electric Design and Research Institute, CNEEC provides customers with feasibility study, project planning and design, economic evaluation and technical consultation.

Having various specialties, the Institute is a comprehensive Design and reasearch  organization holding a State Level A Engineering Design License. It undertakes studies, planning and design for capital construction and technical innovation of electric and printing machinery works, small and medium – size power stations, civil architectures, as well as projects in light industry, communication and transportation, energy saving, environmental protection and anti-seismic design and research organization holding a State Level A Engineering qualification.

It participates in evaluation and justification of state key projects, e.g., nuclear power equipment manufacturing and the Three Gorges Hydro-power Station, etc.

Since 1985, the Institute has completed planning and design for more than 170 projects. It has been awarded 6 prizes by the National Science Conference, 15 Excellent Engineering Design prizes and 14 Excellent Research Achievement Prizes by the state or ministries.
